Westfield UTC mall now charges for parking

Here's the plan for UTC's new parking fees

January 30, 2019

If you've been to Westfield UTC in recent months, you've probably seen the new parking barrier gates that were installed but hadn't yet been put to use.

Today, that changes. As of Wednesday, January 30, 2019, Westfield UTC has launched a new parking plan and parking fees.

According to the Westfield UTC website, the parking will be free for the first two hours, and you'll be charged $2 per hour after that with a daily maximum of $15. So, visits between 2-3 hours will cost $2, between 3-4 hours will cost $4, and so on. The maximum parking fee of $15 will be for anyone parking for longer than 9 hours.

If you're planning to visit the Arclight Cinemas movie theatre or 24-Hour Fitness, you can get an extended validation to extend your free parking for longer than 2 hours.

The bad news for those who work at the mall: Westfield UTC will not to cover parking for employees of businesses within the mall, and has left that up to the tenants to decide if they want to purchase parking passes for their employees.

Westfield UTC has offered to subsidize half the cost of monthly San Diego MTS passes for employees who choose to use public transportation.
