KSON Going Gold For Kylie Rowand

Kylie Rowand

Kylie Elizabeth Rowand was born on May 11, 2012 to first time parents Luke and Bree Rowand. She was the happiest, bravest, most independent little girl. She had the brightest blue eyes and beautiful golden blonde curls. On December 30, 2013 Kylie was diagnosed with stage four high risk neuroblastoma at only 19 months of age. Kylie was treated in San Diego, until March of 14’ when her parents decided to pick up and move her across country to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.

Kylie wasn’t the typical neuroblastoma patient. She had stage four with Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide secreting tumors. Never in the world had this been seen and there was no treatment for cure. In August of 2014, they also found her tumor possessed the BRAF mutation, mostly seen in adults with melanoma. Again, never to be seen in a neuroblastoma patient ever.

Kylie had never been just an ordinary child. Through all her struggles, surgeries, brain bleeds, VIP complications, infections, and just overall stubborn disease, Kylie NEVER lost her sparkle. This child had a will to live like no one had never seen before. She was known as the “Miracle Child”. Kylie has touched more than 250,000 people’s lives from all over the world. She is an inspiration of faith, strength, and determination. She was a brave warrior.

On February 7th, 2015 the angels came and took Kylie home. Her work here on this earth was finished. She changed the lives of thousands and brought them to know our amazing God. And although Kylie is not here on this earth with us any longer, her legacy will continue on.
