American Diabetes Association Alert! Day

Held the last Tuesday of March each year, American Diabetes Association Alert Day® is a one-day event that encourages everyone to take the Type 2 Diabetes Risk Test and become aware of their risk for type 2 diabetes (Risk Test: English:; Spanish: Whether it is participating in workplace-friendly activities, community health fairs, or passing around the risk test to friends, family, and coworkers, we encourage everyone to take part. 

Over 30 million people have diabetes with approximately a quarter of them unaware of the diagnosis and 84 million people have prediabetes with approximately 90% unaware. Use Alert Day to bring about awareness of type 2 diabetes.

Ways to get involved with Diabetes Alert Day 2018:

Act as a public-facing Diabetes Alert Day site, opening your doors to the public and working with your own HR and health plans or partner medical organizations to secure nurses or medical assistants to screen your staff and community members on March 27, 2018

Act as an internally-focused Diabetes Alert Day site, working with your in-house employee wellness program and insurance providers to offer risk tests or free blood glucose screenings to your employees on March 27, 2018

Actively promote Diabetes Alert Day and wellness tips to community members and your employees
